The right rock is only half the order
Gravel delivery sounds simple until material type, yardage, truck access and placement all show up in the same conversation. Three-quarter-minus base, clean drain rock and decorative stone do different jobs. Ordering the wrong one is an expensive way to create a second pile.
We start with what the material needs to do. A driveway base must compact and carry traffic. Drain rock needs open space for water. A working pad may need a durable surface during construction and a different finish later.
SIZE THE DELIVERY
Gravel delivery planned around the project
Material selection, quantity and placement should work together.
Base rock
Aggregate for driveways, access routes and pads where compaction and support matter.
Drain rock
Clean rock used around pipe, structures or drainage features where water movement matters.
Placement support
Coordinate dumping, spreading and grading when a simple pile at the curb will not finish the job.
Truck size and drop location matter. Confirm overhead wires, branches, slopes, pavement strength and room to raise the bed before delivery day.
A tight site needs a better drop plan
Lake Oswego properties often have narrow driveways, established landscaping and limited staging space. Sometimes the best delivery point is not the place where the rock will end up, which means spreading or shuttling must be part of the scope.
Runoff is another consideration. Loose material and sediment need to stay out of public streets and storm drains. We plan delivery and placement around the existing grade and any required erosion controls.

A good delivery starts with measurements, but it ends with a site that can actually use the rock.
01 — Define the job
Identify whether the material is for base, drainage, surfacing or temporary access.
02 — Estimate quantity
Use dimensions, depth and compaction assumptions to build a practical yardage range.
03 — Confirm the drop
Check route, truck clearance and where material can be placed safely.
04 — Spread or stage
Place, spread or leave the material according to the agreed scope.
Lake Oswego gravel-delivery FAQs
How do I know what gravel I need?
Start with the job. Base rock, clean drain rock and surface aggregate serve different purposes. We can discuss the intended use before pricing.
Can you spread the gravel after delivery?
Yes, when spreading and grading are included in the scope. Delivery-only and placed material are different jobs, so make sure the estimate says which one you are buying.
How is quantity calculated?
Length, width and compacted depth create the starting volume. Compaction, existing grade and waste allowance can change the final order.
