LOCAL SERVICE. PRACTICAL PLANNING.

Concrete removal is four jobs, not one

Breaking concrete gets the attention, but access, loading, hauling and site preparation decide how the project actually goes. A small patio behind a house can be more complicated than a larger open slab if equipment cannot reach it.

C&H scopes concrete demolition around thickness, reinforcement, nearby structures, buried utilities and the next use of the area. We focus on slabs and site features within our excavation capability—not broad structural demolition claims.

WHAT THE WORK CAN INCLUDE

Concrete demolition and removal scope

The estimate should cover the whole path from intact slab to ready ground.

Selective breaking

Separate the concrete from adjacent surfaces and break it into manageable pieces.

Loading and haul-away

Move debris through the available access and haul it to the agreed recycling or disposal destination.

Subgrade preparation

Remove unsuitable base, backfill voids and leave the area ready for gravel, landscaping or new construction.

Hazardous materials, structural demolition, utility disconnects and public right-of-way work require separate confirmation. We do not assume they are included.

LAKE OSWEGO SITE CONDITIONS

Access and the next surface control the method

Lake Oswego properties can put old concrete behind homes, beside mature landscaping or along narrow driveways. Machine size, protection and debris route should be planned before the first cut.

Tree protection, erosion control and demolition permits may apply depending on the scope. If the concrete is part of a larger structure or near utilities, those questions need to be resolved first.

A CLEAR FOUR-STEP PROCESS

From old concrete to ready ground

The cleanest demolition plan starts with what must remain and what happens after the slab is gone.

01 — Define limits

Mark the concrete to remove, edges to preserve and any known utilities.

02 — Plan access and protection

Choose equipment, debris route and protection for surrounding surfaces.

03 — Break, load and haul

Remove concrete in a controlled sequence and manage debris off site.

04 — Prepare the area

Backfill, compact or rough-grade the exposed area for the next use.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Lake Oswego concrete-demolition FAQs

What concrete can C&H remove?

We can discuss slabs, patios, walkways and other site concrete that fits our equipment and scope. Structural demolition requires separate review.

Do you haul the broken concrete away?

Hauling and disposal can be included. The estimate should state debris destination, loading and any recycling assumptions.

Can you prepare the area for a new driveway or patio?

Yes, when subgrade preparation, imported material and grading are included in the scope. Tell us what comes next so we do not stop one step too early.

Ready to clear the old concrete?

Send photos, dimensions and a view of the access route. We’ll help define the breaking, hauling and site-preparation scope without guessing from one close-up.
